After your breast lift with augmentation, expect to focus on resting and relaxing for several days before starting to work your way back into your normal routine.
In the meantime, there are lots of easy things you can do to make the process as smooth as possible, including these three top breast lift recovery tips.
-
Know Which Medications to Take and Which to Skip
Your cosmetic surgeon will likely prescribe you pain medication to take for the first few days after your breast enhancement procedure. After about 2 to 3 days, you should be able to switch to Tylenol to help manage any discomfort.
However, you should avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen and supplements like fish oil, St. John’s wort and vitamin E, as these can cause bleeding.
-
Get Yourself a Special Pillow
During the first stage of breast lift recovery, try to keep your upper body elevated to help with swelling. To make yourself more comfortable at night, you can get a special wedge pillow to keep you propped up and prevent you from rolling over onto your side or stomach.
Light walking around the house will help to keep your blood flowing and reduce swelling.

Keep in Touch with Your Cosmetic Surgeon
Stay in touch with your cosmetic surgeon throughout your recovery, and stick to your scheduled follow-up appointments. If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, give your cosmetic surgeon’s office a call.
Also, always check with him or her before reintroducing your body to a new level of physical activity.
