Here is what you need to know about each of them.
Saline Implants
There is no one best material for implants. You have to weigh your options and decide which is right for you.
These implants have a silicone outer shell and are filled with a sterile saltwater solution. They are filled after being placed, which means that smaller incisions are needed — a big plus for anyone worried about scarring. Also, should they rupture, the sterile saline can be safely absorbed by the body. However, they tend to ripple over time, which is visible in women with less natural breast tissue.
Silicone Implants
Silicone implants also have a silicone outer shell. However, the filling is a silicone gel. This gel is thick enough that even if the outer shell ruptures, they won’t reflate. This means that clients need regular scans to ensure the implants have not been compromised. They come pre-filled, so larger incisions are needed. Compared to saline, they tend to have a more natural look and feel.
Gummy Bear Implants
Despite the name, no gummy bears are used in these implants. The Allergan Natrelle Inspira implants are considered gummy bear implants. Gummies are also silicone implants, but the gel is slightly different, giving them an even more natural feel. The Inspira implants are round and smooth and provide a more natural feel.
