FACE LIFT FOR MEN
FACE LIFT FOR MEN
Aging and gravity both affect the face, leading to loss of elasticity. In men, this is most commonly seen in sagging around the neck and jowl area, along with surface wrinkles near the eyes and across the forehead. If the signs of aging on your face have you feeling less attractive and alive than you once were, a facelift can provide lasting rejuvenation.

THE BENFITS OF FACE LIFT FOR MEN
To be happiest with the results of their facelift, men should have realistic expectations prior to having surgery. Prospective patients should also be in good mental and physical health. Although signs of aging on the face will be greatly diminished after your procedure, the goal is for subtle results that look realistic and not overdone.
Following their facelift, patients should look energized and more refreshed, not completely wrinkle-free. A facelift is not designed to make patients look like teenagers, and anyone who expects that result will be disappointed.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
During a facelift, several incisions will be made around the facial area, usually hidden back in the hairline and behind the ear. Working through the incisions, the surgeon tightens the underlying musculature of the face and neck, and excess skin and fat will be removed before re-draping the skin across the improved framework. Sutures will be placed to close the incisions.
Depending on the amount of correction needed, the surgery may take several hours to perform. Your surgeon can perform an S lift, which focuses on aesthetic improvement of the neck, and traditional facelift to enhance the neck and mid-face, or an extended facelift which covers the neck, face, and lateral brow.
RECOVERY AND RESULTS
Following their facelift, men often feel both bruised and swollen before the results are visible. It can be upsetting to see a bruised face in the mirror every day as you recover. After a few weeks, the worst of the swelling should have dissipated, although the final results of your surgery won’t be visible for a bit longer.
The results of a facelift are typically long-lasting. However, no surgical procedure is able to stop the aging process completely, so you should be prepared to see signs of aging in your new face over the next several years.
The effects of aging can be minimized by wearing a hat or sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun as much as possible.
WITH OTHER PROCEDURES
It is very common to include additional procedures along with a facelift. For example, eyelid surgery may be used to specifically address signs of aging around the eyes. Cheek and chin implants may be utilized to achieve a more chiseled, masculine appearance and offer greater definition. Liposuction can also be used during a facelift for fine-tuning.
